Shirley Smith

Founder & CEO

I am the founder of The Superhero Project and have helped hundreds of families during their NICU journey. The Superhero Project was established in 2015, a year after my twin boys were born 8 weeks premature.

I brought the gift of Angel Eye technology, a 24/7 camera system that allows families remote access to see their infants, to 4 Philadelphia area hospitals.  These cameras allow families and hospital staff to work together as a team to care for the premature infant.

I love to bring gift baskets, gift cards, hotel stays, photo sessions and carved the idea for The Gift of Time room at Holy Redeemer Hospital, a space where families who have lost their baby can spend time and make memories.

Besides being a passionate philanthropist, I am a busy mom of 4 young children and a full time 2nd grade elementary school teacher.
